| A collaborative project designed to give students in grades 3-5 an opportunity to use patterns to create two different styles of paper airplanes and determine which type of paper airplane will fly the greatest distance and stay aloft the longest time. Registration ends February 1, 2002 with results due no later than February 28. Teacher pages with information on introductory hands-on activities are available; student pages provide relevant Web links, stories about flight, and a glossary. This project was developed by New Brunswick Public School District teachers in conjunction with CIESE at Stevens Institute of Technology, Bank Street College, and St. Peter's College, and is aligned to the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. | |
