| A summer research program for undergraduate majors in mathematics and related fields of application. AMSSI targets underrepresented minorities and women. Read "Determinisitc and Small-World Network Models of College Drinking Patterns," "Algebraic Interleavers in Turbo Coding," "On Solutions to a Nonlinear Elliptic Equation," "Population Processes," and other technical reports written by AMSSI participants. Hosted by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) and the Department of Mathematics at Loyola Marymount University (LMU); funded with the support of the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Defense (DoD), and the National Security Agency (NSA); in industrial partnership with Aerospace Corporation and Rand Corporation. | |
